Default APC?

i been into car stuff for 2 years. been through two ricey cars already and no im on my fifth car. but i never had any APC stuff. i always thought it was like a OBX crappy *** ****. but anyways the other day i went to kragen to get some bulbs for my reverse and I wanted the blueish/white ones(dont call me a ricer they really do look nice). and then i realize it was APC! im like damn the brand everyone on HT looks down upon, not like a really give a expletive. so then i ran into this

its APC brand and i donr really care about the brand cuz the trim itself looks cool i plan to put it straight on the cluster inside the glass.

but my question is, is APC that bad of a brand QUALITY-WISE or because they make ricey stuff?

Who cares what people think. If you like it, put it on. Simple as that.

i dont care what people think how my car looks, but i dont wanna buy any obx-type parts. which is why im asking about the QUALITY of APC parts. if the quality is good or decent, i might stake out more APC stuff.

btw this is my car, also i dont have a k20 but a stock z6 so dont steal it please thanks

I have that same exact product in my car, and I like it. the only problem is getting in there, I had to bend it very carefully through the speedo hole because the plastic lens does not come off of the bezel. I ordered mine off ebay for like $20 or so and saw that it was in APC packaging that was just spray-painted black lol. anyways, ya, it's decent quality, and the adhesive has held up in the Texas heat for almost a year now. definitely a nice touch for the money IMO

edit: I wouldn't buy anything else from APC ever. this is is like the one thing they can't expletive up lol

I think both companies(OBX and APC) are ok companies. APC does make a lot of the decent loking bulbs(as far as color) if you can't afford an HID retro fit, or piaa/raybrig bulbs. OBX's LSD IMO is a very good deal for the money, not quite as nice or as durable as say a quaiffe (but those are 900, the OBX's are around 350). Just like many companies tha mass produce **** to an extreme they have their hit and miss products. Those companies, megan racing, NRG , rota and probally a few others I'm forgetting about are all good companies, but they just don't have the name power as quaiffe, mugen, jun, volk, racing hart or any of the other companies that are higher end.

should I mention that Honda themselves use faux carbon on the CTR, ITR, and many motorcycle gauge bezels, whereas this product is 100% real carbon....

Don't get it, I had one and regretted it.

It's a stick on over the stock trim and it looks like it. Doesn't look OEM at all and looks cheesy.

I replaced it with a CTR trim and it looks much much better.

Check for a similar CF piece on Ebay. For the price, it looks nice, not rice. As for the original question...you have to be conscious of what you're buying. APC makes some parts that are perfectly fine and will hold up without any problems, but then there are some parts that are a POS. Keep in mind what the application is.

I unfortunately have a aluminum trim piece. It came on the car. Now that I know that it might be APC, i will replace it. Thanks.

I wouldnt buy anything that is visible or that I would have to rely on its durability, but i did accidently buy a short shifter for my gfs car a long time ago and it wasnt any worse of a part then say another short shifter. But i dont buy those anymore anyway. So does anyone have the link to those nice race shifters that bring it up to my steering wheel.
