Default anyone tried 195/45R15

has anyone tried 195/45R15 in either in Kumho 712, or Yoko or Toyo TS1, thinking of using them for my EG4, to keep the profile low therefore increasing the final drive, decreasing weight???

any ideas, opinions welcome

What was the stock size tires for your Civic?

I don't recommend it because I like 195/50/15 better.

1. Generally cheaper
2. Easier to find/replace
3. Because of #1, I can spend more for better tires
4. A bit taller, it rides better for the bad street surface.
5. Less speedo/odo error

On the final drive issue, I notice better pick up off the line with 195/50/15 (compare to stock). But in theory, it slows the car down at higher speeds. So that would be my concern if I was to go shorter.

basically 175/70R13 which is about the size of 195/50R15 which I currently drive on...

speedo error is not concern, but rather the accelleration gained from lower profile and lighter tire

the ones sold in NA, there are only three I can think of, but in Europe and Japan there are alot more since they are meant for the tiny cars such as suzukis, fiats, renaults and many more

Kumho 712 Ecsta Supra
Toyo Proxes T1-S
Yokohama A520

I didnt even know that size existed. I personally use, like, and recommend, the Bridgestone RE730's 205/50/15 ZR. GREAT TIRE on my 99 SI's and my 00 GSR. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/uhp.jsp did a test and they ranked in 4th place. AA traction and 300 tread wear. Just bought 4 tires for my 00 GSR Rims because I liked them so much on my 99 SI. Only got them for $398 TOTAL w/ balance and mounting.

195/45/15 would be a nice tire for cars like the EF because of their smaller wheelwells.

Yokohama AVS-intermediates come in 195/45/15, and they cannot be found in 195/50/15 anymore. This is another reason for interest in this tire size
