Default anyone seen a coil work but not work well?
it fires on all cylinders and doesnt miss but it seems like every few rotations it throws a half assed spark. i swapped in a friends and it runs great. just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this happen.

Yes, consistent with your experience, a coil that is near the end of its life may cause misfiring.
