although honda did change the size of the filter they sell for their cars they do the same job. What you are asking about though I wouldn't recomend, especially if you have a vtec motor, changing to a different oil filter can also change your oil pressure. I wouldn't recomend it.

I'm surprised they printed that. They don't mention anything about oil PSI. I use a smaller k20 Oil filter for track use as it's raises Oil PSI about 5 PSI at optimum temp. I change the oil after every track event.

even to the new hndas use a smaller filter the old ones still fit.. same spindle size. cause the new civics use the small one but the d series block is still the same

That looks a lot like the earl's oil cooler I'm going to be using this track season. Who is the maker of that one? Any info or link to the thread about that reusable oil filter. I remember reading about it. And the fact it can take so much more micron's of stuff out of the oil even at high rpm's.

I run the S2k filter on my Turbo D as well. With the smaller Honda filter my oil pressure went up and oil got by my seals. With the S2k I have no such problems.

The S2k, Honda D motors and acura B-series uses the same oil filter.
BTw, oil presure is determined by oil presure regulator inside the engine block beside the oil pump... It is not regulated by the oil filter.
The valve in the oil filter is an anti drain back valve to retain oil when the engine shuts-off.

They used to. Now only the S2k filter retained the old style one.
And the smaller filter DOES increase oil pressure.

This may true. I simple would like to point when I switch filter size it does on my autometer gage increase my pressure.
