i am pretty sure its from a 92-95 civic, i cant really read the part number too well, try a search on http://www.slhondparts.com or try calling you local dealer and asking them to do a part number search

Yep. I took the one that I have waiting to be installed and looked, it's a D series.

Ok cool, so now I need to know if vtec and non-vtec a/c compressors are interchangeable for EG's.

Someone told me they were different...

sorry guys, but the 92-95 civic and the 96-00 civic are interchangable.

actually, a/c compressors are the same for the:
92-95 civic (all models)
96-00 civic (exc. si)
94-95 del sol (all models)
96-97 del sol (exc. B16A2)
97-01 crv.

it doesn't make a difference if the motor is vtec or not.

no, b-series compressors are not interchangable with d-series motors.
now, it can be reversed. you can use a d-series compressor on a b-series motor with the right compressor mount.

How did the CR-V get in there if B-series compressors aren't interchangeable?

Is it just a fluke?

it's all about the compressor mount. honda uses a d-series compressor on a b-series mount.

this is why, when doing a b-aeries swap, if desired to keep the a/c, one just has to buy the compressor bracket (along with pulley and tensioner bolt) off of a crv (p7j) or off of a 94-95 del sol (b16a3) (P54). they are the exact same bracket. they are the only oem bracket that can mount onto a b-series motor and accept the d-series compressor.

you gotta love Honda!
