Default Anyone know how to adjust koni reds for a 96-00 civic?

What's up,
Haha i think i got a little buffer just compressing those shocks like it says on the website haha. Exerting that much effort (which I haven't done in a long long long time) made me feel every muscle in my chest, arms, and back. I still don't get it though! What i think i'm going to do is leave it at the softest setting because i'm all about comfort and cruising haha.
I'm following the instructions on the website by putting the shock in a vice, and then pushing down the piston (silver rod with nut on top) down, but I can't seem to get it to like lock? When I turn it left is it supposed to make a sound and stay compressed so that I can adjust it from there? Or do I just push the piston down, feel it lock in and keep turning from there while still holding the piston down? What happens if I let it go? Anyways thanks for reading and thanks if you can help.
Jake
