ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD CALI STATE REF STATION IN THE 909 AREA.
IM MOVING TO THE 909 AREA AND IM PLANNING ON GETTIN MY CAR BAR. DO ANYONE KNOW OF A LAY BACK STATION WITH COOL REF. THAT WOULD HELP ME. I GOT A 99 GSR IN A 94 EG. RUNNIN A OBD1 SET UP.

sorry to say this but there are no CHILL refs...if you had done this a few years back, maybe.
but now they know pretty much everything and literally check for everything...back then (from when i was researching) they might have let you bar an obd2 motor as obd1 but now it may not be so. someone correct me if im wrong, but from what i know, they will make you bar it as an obd2 motor...

The way it works, as long as there was an OBD1 version of the OBD2 motor you have your ok. Meaning, You have a 99 GSR since there was a 94 GSR you could convert it to that year an be fine. The main thing about that is that the motor has to be newer then the car but can be converted to its earlier stat. Say you wanted to do a Type R since it only came in OBD2 form you can not convert to OBD1
You just have to be nice to the ref and theyll be nice to you, they will not give you a hand out.

thankz. my set up is a 94 si with a usdm 99 gsr. its running a obd1 p72.

what no body been to any ref station in the 909 area. i got a 99 gsr in a 94 si hatch and would like to know if they really look at things like that. im take my car to cali in 2 weeks. and would like to know where i can get my car bar. with an o.k. ref..

Call the 800 number and find out where the local ref to you is. Its not that hard.

to be honest, there are only a handful of people in cali that have their cars reffed. most people dont want to go thru the trouble of getting the job done...
