Anyone with JDM folding mirrors - little help.
Well, I finally decided to wire up my folding mirrors this weekend for a little extra bling. But, there is one thing I couldn't figure out. These mirrors are supposed to fold up when the parking brake is engage, but I couldn't figure out how to wire it up to do that. Has anyone done this?
Please don't give a "why do you want those mirrors," or "function over form, y0!"
Thanks!

If it is supposed to fold up when the parking brake is engaged then why is
there a folding mirror switch?
Both for sale!

The switch is there for folding the mirrors whenever you choose. But, the mirrors are also suppose to fold automatically when the brake is engaged, i.e. when you park.
Thanks for the relays BTW.

I dont think It would do that boy, What IF I am doing a drift and using my hand brake, does that mean when I am drifting and my side mirror will close, ??? that would be awesome BTW I was just joking. dont think It would work, because I know that for sure you have to push the button to close and open

I don't think they would fold with the parking brake. wire it all up, if you have an extra wire then maybe thats what its for but most likely you won't have an extra wire.

Hmmm, I was almost sure they were supposed to do that. I know Mark mentioned it on his install page. And most cars I have seen with folding mirrors do something similar to that. Oh well, that why I asks questions.

Most cars you've seen do that, are wired up that way. If you know your wiring, wiring it to the e-brake isn't that hard.

Ya they do not fold when the e-brake is on. Why would you want them to anyway? If you really want it to work that way it would be easy to wire up a switch on the e-brake.

Alright, I was just going by what Mark said on his install page. Guess I shouldn't believe everything I read.
But, it makes sense though. Whenever you park you would want the mirrors to fold in, the point of having these mirrors is for tight parking spaces anyway. My boss's Lexus does that, and there are some other luxury cars that do that stock here in America. I just thought about it for a second and figured out what I needed to do if I wanted to make it work, anyway.

I've always been told that they are theoretical suppose to fold in when you put the E-brake on.
The problem is that I think there is some switch or something that is suppose to be in the E-brake mechanism. Since USDM civics don't have folding mirrors then its not there.
I’m almost certain JDM civics mirrors do fold in with the E-brake if it is equipped to do so.
Hope that makes since.
I want a pair of folding mirrors for my sedan!

Whew! Thank you! At least I'm not the only one that has heard that. Now I don't feel AS dumb.
BTW, I have a set of EG9 folding mirrors if you are interested.

But I guess you could do that, just wire up to you instrument e-brake light. when its on it will fold, when its release it will open, but I guess if you have a brake problem your mirror would be closed =P , just a concept

I pull my mirrors in at school everyday and anywhere with close parking....beats walking around the car to do so
I'm not THAT lazy to need a switch

How much are you asking?
Just interested, even though I'm short on funds currently.
Thanks.
If I do find anything on E-brake and folding mirrors I'll let ya know.

I thought I asked not to ask something like that. There is no real point to having them. It's just for the bling.
Just like people don't NEED block off plates for removed radios and antennas, but they get them because they want to.
