Anyone have a suede steering wheel?

Re: Anyone have a suede steering wheel? (hayabusa160)
Ive had my Lap 5 for over a year, in two cars. Its holding up fine, and ive been through 3 sets of tires in that year, so I use it alot.
If youre worried, they sell leather/suede conditioners and stuff to help maintain and preserve it.
Good luck

i have had my suede wheel for a good while now and i have a friend that has had his for a few years now and it has been through many road races.... the only thing that i have noticed is that it goes from a soft suede to straight up tough leather..... but i havent had any problems with stickyness or anything and i do NOTHING to clean or preserve it

That seems to be the trend with these...if you condition and clean them does it make it like new again? Post up some pics too if you got em

This might not pertain to anyone here, but I thought I might chime in-
I have been told that Suede steeringwheels are best preserved when used with suede gloves (such as in my racecar)-
I have noticed that when I use my bare hands, the leather doesn't seem to like it (especially if my hands are wet/clammy)
Suede steering wheels rule.

On a related side note what about the airbag? For you that daily drive these, do you feel the benifits outweigh the saftey issue. I would do this in a second in my sol for the comfort, added control, good looks, but I dont want to eat steering wheel when I crash into the stupid *** soccermom when she pulls out in front of me. Yes. I do wear my seatbelt. Give me some more credit than that.'

airbags.
I took my passenger bag out too for good measure. They are heavy, and I wear seatbelts. Airbags are to save lives when someone is not wearing thier belt.
racecars dont have airbags, and drivers walk away from those wrecks all the time. Build a better safety system if your nervous.
