Anyone have Hydroplaning probs with Azenis?
Anyone have Hydroplaning probs with Azenis? I want to buy some this week but I want to know if anyone has had a prob with hydroplaning. The drainage system on the highway here in txas sucks so there are many puddles and what not.
I drive a lot so i wanted to know before hand. I do't want to make an investment on tires and not be happy with them.

What he said !!!
At the very least, have a good grip on the wheel and expect it to squirm when you hit the water.

Well he could avoid puddles of rain, but seriously Texas drains suck so bad. Why
don't you just put on some cheapo tires or buy some just for the Winter. Didn't
think Azenis would be anyone's Winter tires.

Been driving on Azenis in Seattle off and on for 3 years. I haven't had any problems. They're the tire of choice for racing on wet days... Don't know what else to tell you.

Seems like the odds are in for "Not good for rainy weather tires."
Whats a good tire that is good for puddles and rain? I got Hx wheels, should i stick with 195 60 14's or go OEM 185 65 14

Horrible in the rain. I bought another set of rims with different tires so I didnt have to drive on the Azenis in the rain. I was hydroplaning between 2 lanes on the freeway and it scared the **** out of me. I love them when its dry out.

i was driving my old neon with bald, and i mean bald tires in the rain and snow. Like the metal belting was just about exposed. Just drive cautiously, azenis are so nice and have such a great price, its hard not to like them. Then again you can always get stealies and pep boys tires,, no biggy.

Re: (SOL-R)
Azenis are pretty unpredictable in the rain from my experience. I think alot of it has to do with your suspension setup. On my old EG with 205-50-15 and tokico illumina coilovers, I could do 80 in the rain and be fine. In my new EG with 195-6-14 and a'pexi n1 coilovers, I find myself hydroplaning alot more than in my old hatch. Both cars weigh/weighed around 2250 with me in them.
edit: yokohama AVS ES100's are much, much better in the rain, but cost close to $20 more per tire than the azenis if I recall. . .
