Anyone have good luck with aftermarket manifold/catalytic combo for our 1996-2000 DX
Well it looks like mine is cracked around & would have to be removed to weld it up properly. Sucks I was thinking I could just get it welded while mounted on the car, but it's a longer crack than expected. I'm gonna remove it, but am just considering ordering a new one. Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket brand that lasted & fit like OEM? Must be California smoggable

Amazon or ebay, manufacturer Dorman, they have a Cali and non Cali model

How long do the stock cats last anyway? Mine has 180k on the odo, would it be worth taking off & re-welding it?

depends on the shape of the cat if the honeycomb ceramic isnt broken inside its still good. if its broke and falling apart when u look at it then u need to buy a new one. a hi flow would be ur best bet and cheaper then OEM.

Remember I'm in Cali. Don't know if any hi flows would be smog legal

Yeah you can get some from Carsound (Magnaflow) that are 2009+ CARB legal... I got one.
The one I have needed to be welded in/fabricated at a muff shop... but it I used it during my BAR appointment so its definitely legit.

Well i just pulled it off. It was very easy compared to Mustang headers lol! Just sprayed all the fasteners with penetrating lube & used 12mm & 14mm sockets/wrenches. Im gonna take it to my welder tomorrow & check for some new gaskets if any
