Default Anyone has done this in their car?

I don't know whether it's legal or not but this is what I'm thinking......
Wire the corner lights to act the same as the taillight turn signals...
So at night, the front corner won't be on unless you turn them on and they will blink.(Like when you turn left or turn right) And they will not stay on after you're done turning.... Headlight will act regularly......

Has anyone done that before? Does anyone know how to wire it?

thanks for any kind of input..

J~~

That is the way it is done in Japan. It is illegal. You just need to disconnect the parking light signal from the light. But keep the signal light active. Look at the link below.

JDM is gay for some

this is illegal? Mmmmm.... it would be nice not to change the bulb color of the signal lights(stay amber), but just don't stay on when I have my headlights on...
but it's illegal? .........

Mines are done like this, I can try to find the wiring scheme my friend did for me and send it to you. What car do you have because you might have to edit it a little... I have type r headlamps, so instead of the turn sigal light staying on, my city light stays on instead and my turn signals only light up , when signaling a turn. All the civic's in japan are like this, i have actually seen some US car with it as well.. i believe the audi?

It's not the ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION of the vehicle. The laws are really picky about modifications made to a car. They could care less if the lights are wired that way from the factory, it's when other cars are modified that it is illegal. Oh the wonderful laws of the USA....

I had my EG in that configuration for a few months before I went back to the wonderful world of amber Basically all I did was put a small piece of electrical tape on the "low" (parking light) contact of the bulb. Took about 5 minutes to do and (thank god) it is very reversible if needed, so you don't have to chop any wires.

yup, this i did the same thing as Cachis EG8... it really looks cool at night... but i think it is illegal. I wont take it off until i get pulled over for it... dont be cutting wires or anythin, just use electrical tape...

Wait a minute... you mean you guys (in NA) don't have turn signals integrated into the headlights AND don't have side-markers?

So ppl only know you're changing lane from the tail lights?? i.e. when you indicate only the tail light blinkers start... blinking?

That's weird!

No, we DO have turn signals integrated into the headlights, but for the most part, we don't have side-markers.

On some cars the turn signals are integrated, but most cars made before 95-96 have a turn signal located in it's own housing beside the headlamp.

it's gay becuase you don't have little lights on all the time and they actually serve a function?

Also..it's illegal? How come BMWs, VWs....and other cars w/ oem sidemarkers have it like that?

Another thing you might want to consider is that when you do this, it makes your car less visible from the side if you don't have sidemarkers. Just a little safety issue that drove me back to putting amber bulbs in my clear corners. Besides, amber corners look good

Because on those cars, they have a separate side marker light/reflector (usually on the side of the front bumper.) On the Civics, the parking light is also the side marker, and that's why it wouldn't be legal to disable them. It's stupid to have them off at night with the headlights.
