I'd assume an EH from his sig.

You can always get the brackets from Honda for the rear speakers and mount them. They'd go right above the "armrests" in the backseat.

dude just get some metal from home depot, cut whatever sized hole you want in it, attach it to the car, and mount your speaker.

That'll work too, especially since you want 6x9's. Just make sure it's a decent thickness of metal, and you might have to add some support braces/beams to the back of it to give it some extra support.

So if the interior is stripped you did it for weight savings, right?

...then why would you want to add weight and have speakers back there?

My 1992 hatch is stripped on the inside, and I can't see how speakers would even be functional seeing as how road noises and exhaust/engine noises fill the cabin with enough sound as it is.

Maybe he's trying to drown out the excess road/exhaust/engine noises...I know I added a subwoofer to my hatch to get rid of the excess exhaust noise, and I have full interior. It's still a little loud for my liking, so I'm losing the fart can and getting an '07 Si axle-back exhaust added in

I'm not trying to be an *** or anything like that, but what does that have to do with the OP's question?

I'm not really sure why you need rear speakers...just upgrade the front ones.

considering the rear speakers on an eg dont even mount to the interior panel itself theres no reason you cant still have your speaker back there after having taken out the interior panel.

edit: ah looks like youre trying to say the speaker bracket/cup thing has also been removed. you could buy them from a junker/dealer but they still wont mount 6x9s

It'd make a difference...I have upgraded front speakers, but the majority of the excess/annoying noise comes from the rear of the car.

I am wanting them because if I have people in the back, they only hear my two 10's AND I want to hear the vocals more as the front component speakers, which are Memphis', seem too low to really have a great sound so having 6x9's in the armrest would theoretically help the overall sound quality.

so would simply mounting some tweeters and 5 1/4, or some decent 2 way 5 1/4s. also if your subs are producing enough bass for the entire car then you might invest in an equalizer and filter away some of the low end from your main components and keep the deep bass strictly in the woofers.
