Default Anyone ever do a head swap on a 95 cx?

I want to know if a 95 cx has 8 or 16 valve indents. Also, has anyone done a 16v head swap on pistons with only 8 indents? Thanks.

You could just clay the motor.

Claying the motor will insure that you have sufficient clearance between the head, pistons and valves (0.035").

here is a link to how to do it

Ha, ha! WHY? Cx's are slow. Thanks for the reply though.

I've heard about claying the motor, but how is it done? Is taht something I would have to take to a shop, or can it be done at home? does anyone know if a head swap would work on a cx?

Did one one time, did not have the money to do a full swap. Put a d16a6 head on the Cx block, a d16z6 intake and a header on it also. Cx intake and exhaust manifold are really to small for the d16a6 head. Computer had a tuff time with the new parts put on, rev limiter is reached really quick...lol. Do a D16Z6 swap with the trans also and you won't be dissapointed. Good Luck.

Just buy a D15B7 swap for like $100.

don't listen to these homos......I put a Z6 VTEC head on my 95 CX motor (which has the same paitons in it as a DX BTW, having 4 reliefs in each piston).

So far my car is faster than a 99-00 Si with I/H/E, and a 98 Civic Ex with an LS motor. I still have that puny stock cat too, as well as the stock intake.

The CX bottom end is perfect for fitting a VTEC head. Compression is over 10:1. The car is quick!
