Default ANYONE done an Integra handle swap.

did a search. found nothing. I'm looking to do a door handle swap for my EJ1. I don't like the sideways opening door handles, and the integra's have the same shape. but what i want to know is if the connecting rods, mount, and suck will be the same. also will my locks swap over so I don't have 2 keys. has ANYone done this before?

Ever thought of utilizing "door poppers"?

I don't like the idea of opening my doors electronically. and what I meant with the key is that i don't want the integra key to unlock my door and my honda key for the truck and ignition. But no offence, question still in the air.

as for the key you take it to a locksmith with the lock out of the integra and have him rekey it to your honda key simple as that. i don't know if the handle will fit or not, i have never heard of a complaint that insane that they don't like the door handles on the car said person purchased. I'm going out on a limb and saying no they don't fit. since nothing from a door fits ie: panels etc.

but if you took a picture of door handles side by side they are the exact same shape. it's not THAT big of a deal, I just like the lift up style handles on the outside. the sideways ones are fine when you are sitting down, but when you ear higher than the handles, it's somewhat annoying to pull sideways.

so I'm assuming you've gone 3 years and didn't do it. or you did, failed, and want to see me try then come on here trying to sell a pair of handles because a swap idea went out the window. I'll get around to it. when I have the handles, and time and patience to mess with them.

Advice - Try it!

If it works then you'll be happy as can be. I did the 4 door Ek door handle swap to my Hatch way back in the day and was sooo happy with it when it was completed. If it doesnt work, try again or try something else.

Four door Ek rear handles...

On this...

Good luck!

to OP: i just never got around to it. it probably would have gone higher up on my list of things to do if i either had another car, more spare time, or a definite answer.

the handle is the same shape. you would need to swap the Integra locks for your locks in order to keep using your key. im not sure if they will bolt up the same or not but i garuntee the rods won't fit because in between the door handle outside and the door andle inside the geometry is played out differently. its gonna be a pain in the *** to work with those metal rods and those plastic clips. they break easy too.

Yes, my doors are locked everyday. I did the power window/door locks conversion and I also have keyless entry. If the battery ever dies I have the trunk keyhole still. All i have to do is use my key to open the trunk, fold down the back seats, crawl in, open the doors and pop the hood. Smart huh?

LoL, ya it kinda does look chrome in that pic. The only thing chrome on my car is the lip on my rims and my SIR headlights.

I will say that I dislike the side open handles on the eg. Love the lift up handles better. Ease of use really.

I can't see a door handle bothering someone so much that they go threw all the trouble to replace it.

it's not that the 2 seconds is a pain. it's just the more natural it feels the more you like the car. don't over look the little things. they are what make your car... yours. I have a 1989 eagle summit shift ***. I've had it in all my cars. it's not that the ***'s are bad or wrong, i just grew accustom to it and it's got a really nice feel.
