anyone with d16y8 head pics? how do you know if a head is vtec?
does anyone have pics of a sohc head? I aquired one and I'm not sure if it's v-tec or not. How do I find this out?

The best way is to look for the VTEC solenoid and pressure switch. Located right behind where the distrbutor mounts.

My solenoid is about the size of a nickel on top and a little more than an inch tall I think. It's a goldish metal type color.

The VTEC selonoid is on the lower right side of the head in this pic...it would be on the passanger side in a car, next to the intake manifold. (HX Head)
