anyone build any hx with vtec type e?
I've been trying to gather information on the best way to build my hx its bone stock besides for lowered 2 inches, I'm just wondering the best way to build my motor w/o a turbo setup. I have searched but I'd just like to see what peoples opinions on this are,

I don't think I've ever seen a built D16Y5. I'm sure someone's done it, but I'm not sure what parts work with it (maybe Y8 stuff does). I'm sure the basic bolt ons that work between all the d series are options.

You can put, intake, header, exhaust, throttle body coolant bypass, heat sheilding intake manifold gasket, E3 spark plugs, and thats about it. But dont expect to make more than 130WHP at max. Probably closer to 120WHP since your car is VTEC -E and makes 115HP instead of 127.

Re: anyone build any hx with vtec type e?
Idk I wanted to replace the internals for now and eventually run a turbo setup but I can't seem to find any hx build threads for the vtec type e motor, maybe I'm better off with a gsr block or building a lsvtec I'm not exactly sure, as for my motor is there anyway I can swap the head out? What's compatable with the hx block?

You could do a simple cheap Vitara build and get a turbo and tune it. It will be fine, and get great gas mileage on the highway.

I myself own a 97 hx, with the stock d16y5 and the previous owner before my buddy had it turbo'd. He's on here somewhere. his name is like XxxStuntinxxX i think, his real name is brad. he has a purple ej1. Hit him up for more info.

Its way better than any B series head. B series dont have roller rockers. Only some K series have roller rockers. So you can put very heavy cams in them.
