anyone with axxis pads experience noisy braking
Just put mine on today with brembo blanks and their squeaking. Are they known for that or do have to just grease the backs of the pads?

I've been running axxis ultimates for several months now and I can't hear a thing. I hope you like black wheels though...

spray some brake clean on it. my buddy runs axxis pads on his SI with slotted brembos and he says that they cause a lot of brake dust...but he said they are awesome brakes

Mine makes squeaking sounds, but not very loud. Usually can't even hear it cause of my loud car.
And they're very dusty. My wheels are gunmetal in color and all i see after a day of driving is brake dust covering it.
Can't complain too much cause it's a good pad.

youre usually supposed to put brake quiet grease on before you put the pads on. any autoparts store has it.

Brake fluid wont affect squeaking. It's a good idea to change it once a year though.
No they're not known for squeaking but they are known for dusting. I personally want brakes that will stop the car, not brakes that will last forever or look nice.
You didn't break them in, so you're experiencing squeakiness and you're not getting the full potential out of the pads. Axxis metalmaster are great pads but they absolutely have to be broken in, as is the case with all good pads.
When you first install the pads, yes with the brake quiet grease on the back (except the Ultimates which have anti squeel built into them), you take them for a few long gradual stops starting at 20, then 40, then 60, and if you're crazy enough, do 1 or 2 at 80mph. At the higher speeds you don't have to bring it all the way down, just a long gradual slowing. Never come to a complete stop, cuz you'll warp the rotors. As soon as you start to smell the burnt pads you can stop and take it home using your trans primarily for slowing down. Don't put the ebrake on when you park it. Let it cool completely before you take it for a drive again. Do this late at night on a nearby freeway or in a large empty parking lot. Being safe is a higher priority then breaking them in perfectly.
I prefer the metalmasters to the ultimates. The ultimates don't stop all that great when they're cold.

Re: anyone with axxis pads experience noisy braking (vti444)
i take my car out to country roads and break em in 30->10 a few times, give it a rest, 50->10 a few times, give it a rest, 80-10 a few times, drive around for a couple hours, never come to a full stop or the pad will imprint, dont put ebrake up or it will ruin it, brake firmly but do not to lock the brakes or let abs kick in. let it fully cool off. done!

Re: anyone with axxis pads experience noisy braking (tilt)
about a month ago i installed brembo blanks and axxis ultimates all the way around on my CTR 5 lug setup. i still get the squeel and if it wasn't going to stop w/in a week i was going to post. its a bit annoying, but they braking power is great, i haven't really had to push the limits w/ them though. definately happy thus far. well, except for the squeeking.
