Anyone active running a d15 vtec(3 stage) in there ek without a cel?
if so couple of questions..
1. how do you get inspected running a p2j jdm ecu?
2. if you're not running a p2j, what are you using?
3. anyone have the eco light operational?
probably have a couple more Qs but curious if anyone has done this and is daily driving the car.
thanks in advance

Re: calling all ek d15vtec'ers
There have been more than a number of these threads started. However I have yet to see even one that actually figured out their problems and the people that have done them successfully aren't chiming in to offer up much assistance. Most of the threads I've followed are pretty much the blind leading the blind.
I've also noticed that once you try to mix and match parts you're pretty much guaranteed failure.

how do you tell a difference between the vtec 3 and regular vtec?
Found out my car has one in it but dont know which vtec and I need a cap/rotor.

Thread titles MUST summarize the tech problem (be topic specific) so that members browsing titles can understand the problem without reading the post.

Are the codes for the CEL the primary sensor? Ive had a big problem with a CEL on my car which is swapped but come to find out it was just the primary sensor wire rubbing against another wire (common on a swap i guess). I fixed this by separating the wires and cutting and replacing the exposed wire which allowed me to pass inspection. I can take a picture of the fix to show you so you can pass inspection, thats only if its the primary sensor causing a check engine light.

Good luck. I've seen at least half a dozen of these threads started and no one has been successful yet.

I did and it ran like **** after about 15 mins of driving then I would restart it and it would rive fine...for about 30 mins. I spent like 300 on parts trying to fix it only to find out it was a connection going to the map sensor. It ran perfect after that and no check engine light with my factory ecu. Just swap the intake and exhaust manifolds and its like your running the same motor just with a more powerfull v-tech! But bottom line...its the same power as a d-15...just with a powerfull v-tech

This swap can be successful since most of the check lights are wiring related. If you can read electrical circuit diagrams then it will make things easier.
