Anybody know how I can pass inspection in NJ with JDM B18C swap?
Like the topic says. Just looking for some ideas. I just swapped this in about 2 months ago. I don't have the time or money right now to get it all taken care of legally. I just need it to pass this time so that I'll have some time to get it registered and stuff for it to be legal in the states. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Ask friends if they know anyone who has a repair shop/inspection station. You'll have to pay for a sticker, but at least it'll be legal..

Seriously, I don't know where you are in Jersey, but just go to some service stations that do the private inspections and pay them the $80 or so they charge (having talked to them about your situation first). Shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone to do it for you.

go for a private inspection and make friends with the guy that does it quickely...then u wil neva have problems latat on...oh it cost $50 bucks too...i can refer u to a great guy that does inspection around my way...im in north jersey bergen county

as long as the emission equipment is hooked up i don't see why u couldn't pass nj's inspection. the only thing that could be bad is that i know they are currently changing the inspection to chk obd cars via their access ports.

The only thing that is not hooked up is the EVAP control solenoid. Do you think that it will pass? I have never heard of a JDM engine passing without being modified to run here in the states.

Let me know if you find a place. My car failed emissions horribly. Although I didnt have my EGR hooked up at the time. I need to take it through again to see what happens now that its hooked up. Although at the state inspection the guy poped my hood and looked around the engine for about 2-3 minutes Id say. Then got another co-worker to take a look. To make a short story short no body said anything about me having an obd1 h22 in a 99 civic. So let me know if you find a place.

dmv here dont pop ur hood. eatontown just go when its pretty busy they just do the pail pipe emissions and the usual stuff. only time when they do is when no one is there and they get bored so they make u pop ur hood. when u go when its pretty busy like near closing they just rush all the cars through. also local gas stations around here will make ur car pass for 85 bucks
