anybody interested in deep 6.5" adaptor plates for your door speakers?
I'm sure a lot of you have realized that when you're putting in your 6.5" aftermarket speakers into your doors, you a lot of times run into problems with it being too deep and hitting your window...especially with the nicer sets because of depth.
I've made a few extra sets of adaptor plates that'll bolt right in, give you ~ 1.25" extra depth, clear the window and your door panels.
If anyone's interested let me know! I couldn't find anything readily available to do this, so I just made my own and they came out great.
Just trying to help anybody out if they got stuck in the same position as me

Both Best Buy and Cirucit Cty sells 5.25 to 6.5 adapters. Post some pics and prices of your home made adapters.

Mine do away with the whole plastic setup used on the door, and are made out of MDF.
I'm asking $25 shipped for them..but that's not set in stone.

I've also got these for Maximas
The one in the picture is actually from a Maxima, but the Civic ones don't look too much different.

Here's a pic with the adaptor mounted to the door with a Crystal 6.5", and then with the stock grill in place.

I used those little shim things, and longer screws.
Your idea works good though.

Have these for 96 coupe Integras?
If someone sends me the stock black plastic speaker housing, I can probably make a pair from that.
Hey do you make them for EF's? I think I need some.
IM me guys!

I'll take my door panel off and measure exactly how much depth these will support.

The mounting depth of the R's is 2.75"....I'm going to go see if there's enough depth to clear that.
I'll let everyone know what the max depth is for these pods.

For those interested, on my EG, the max top-mount depth is 3". The clearance might be slightly different due to internal door designs for EF's, EK's etc...but not by too much.
The deepest 6.5" I've seen is 2.80", so it should have enough clearance for dang near anything.

I may be interested in a set for my Eg. I'm thinking about replacing my front speakers. Does anyone know off-hand the maximum depth you can go with up front with no modifications?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I could be interested also, I'm facing the same problem with my front speakers. They're MB Quarts and make contact with the window (window doesn't go all the way down). The problem is I'm in the process of moving back up north this weekend so I might not be around Honda-Tech that much. Will you still have these next week? I should have access to a PC back home, I'll get on honda-tech and contact you.

I just wanted to let you guys know I got a set from him, and they look great. Instead of my problem being in the back now, it is that my tweeter is hitting the front grill. I just e-mailed him, and as soon as I can get him the new specs I need, he is going to make me a better set. I give him: .

No problem....I'll have these indefinitely, as the original set was made for my personal car, when I realized nobody really sold a bolt in kit. So I've always got access to the template persay.
Chris, hurry up and let me know the specs so I can get your new, improved set going
