ok.. lets not flame the kid. we all had to learn once, or just look. anyways

your oil pan is that big black thing at the bottom of your engine. has a bolt on the back, 17mm

unscrew it. oil will fall, use something to contain it.
let oil drain....
on the back of the block is a round oil filter, get a oil filter wrench and take it off..
it has oil in it still, so be clean.
replace the filter, but wipe a little oil on the rubber seals.
put the 17mm bolt back, with washer, or you can replace the washer.
install oil. ( goes threw the oil cap on the top of the engine, valve cover, and drains into the pan)

done.

Some people just need that added assurance that they are doing things correctly. A DIY is a good way for people to know they aren't ******* something up, especially for first timers Hey, everyone has to learn somehow, right?

Couple more things. Make sure the oil filter gasket comes off with the filter so you dont have 2 gaskets installed . Also only hand tighten the filter then give it about a 1/4 turn if you tighten to much it will be a huge pain to take off next time .

I found the best way to do it is with the front of the car jacked up equally on both sides. It allows every last drop of oil to drain out.

Also make sure that the oil rubber o ring is on the old oil filter/off the block because if its still on the block and you screw on the new oil filter and start the car watch the 4.5-5 qts u just put it spill out . Also, when putting the filter back on do not use the oil filter wrench.

So I guess you were naturally born with knowledge of changing your own oil? People have to start learning somewhere

I would suggest buying a repair manual such as s helm's, hayne's, etc... it would help you out a lot easier. Also take off the oil cap before you start draining the oil, it will come out a lot faster and you'll get more out.

Second step: Study that manual from front to back.
Third step: study that manaul again from front to back. good luck.

yeah d series is 3.5 quarts. start it up for 15 seconds, and then check the oil level.

WRONG WRONG WRONG! A d15b7 takes 3.5 quarts while, let's say a 16y7 takes 3.8 quarts. People really have to start getting thier facts straight before posting.

So your oil can foam when you build too much pressure? Not that 1/5 of a quart is a whole lot, but there is a reason for factory specifications.
