Anybody familiar with vtec-e d15b JDM? basically d15z1?
I am looking to purchase a JDM D15b vtec-e however i am unfamiliar with whether or not it is identical to the d15z1?
I am putting it in a Crx so i would need to know if Ecu pins for it are the same or if it is even the same p07 ecu found in the US?
Does the 5wire work like all 49 states or like Calis (i am unsure but i know there is a bit of a difference)?
Anything different that anyone can think of?

There are several D15B's. Make sure you get the OBD1 version with the big EGR on it. The JDM versions used one wire O2's, which is very strange. But if you're running it with a P07 then you'll need the O2 sensor for that ECU. Bear in mind that the CA P07's did NOT use the wideband, only the federal. That seems counterintuitive but the fact is that running lean produces a lot of NOx. So the car wouldn't pass CA smog standards at the time. If the car were brand new today, it wouldn't even pass federal standards.
The JDM version of the engine will not have a vacuum port for the charcoal canister and it will not have a VTEC oil pressure switch, but that is standard stuff across all the motors, even the B series.
Your CRX is OBD0 so you're going to need an OBD1 harness. If you're going to go through the trouble of converting it to OBD1, why not convert it to OBD2 and get a D16Y5 (or it's JDM equivalent)? It gets the same mileage but much much better power. With an EX transmission, it's just as fast as the D16Y8. In your CRX it's going to be something special.

Main reason staying obd1 is that i know how to make the jumper harnesses and can rewire the engine harness no problem. Obd2 would be to much work for me at this time...
I was looking into the d16y5 but as stated didn't want to go obd2
The d15z1 was my first choice but i am not having any luck locating one.
the d15b vtec-e is from a reliable importer and for a cheap price.
I think i may stick with waiting on a d15z1 swap sounds like one to many differences that i don't want have to modify to work with passing Emissions.
Not looking for speed just reliability and good fuel economy :D
