i have a 93 ex 5 speed, and i want to swap motors, im not sure on what kinda dohc motor im going to swap to, but thats besides the point. i have done alot of turbo 2.3 fords and have LOTS of parts left over, spare intercoolers, intercooler pipes, turbos, injectors, and so on. i want to boost w-e motor goes in there, i know im going to need a custom comp, bigger fuel pump and regulator, turbo exhaust manifold, and bigger injectors because i dont think you can make ford injectors work with honda. Has anybody ever done their own turbo kit? What motor would be the best for a turbo?

This was taken from Honda Tuning magazine April issue. I couldnt find it online so i decided to hand type it. They do have a full step install guide in the mag, which is awesome.

They did mention the adapter plate in the article, but not on the list, so here is the specs on that, word for word from the article.

Using the HF manifold as a guide, center it on a piece of .75 x 4 x 5 inche flat steel plate that is roughly big enough to mate the header and turbo. Mark and center punch the four holes on the manifold. Drill and tap with a 10mm x 1.25mm tap .5 inch deep for all four holes, but do NOT go all the way through. If you prefer you can skip this process and weld the plate directly to the manifold. But i know some people dont have welders. Here is a pic of the adapter plate

^Link isn't working, but I was toying with this idea and was talkting to a mechanic buddy of mine, who said that instead of looking for a 2G DSM turbo, look into some Chryslers from the late 80's early 90's. He said they are a little bit smaller (spool up faster) and because they were on sedans, they would probably be in better shape (not ran as hard). I don't know alot on the subject, just passing on hear-say.

and yeah, the local junk yard sells the turbos off the chryslers for $50 a piece, most of which look to be in decent shape.

Smaller than a t-25???A t-25 turbo from a 2g is very small and spools up real quick. I think your injectors from your ford will work. But all you need for fuel is a 12:1 fmu...no pump, injectors. I ran 12psi on my d16z6 with only an fmu for fuel mods. I am at 5000 ft so maybe only 6-8psi at sea level on a cold night
