Anybody ever done a 96+ front end swap on a 92-95?
I need a new front end and I was thinking about trying to squeeze a 96+ front end on instead. What all will I need? Bumper, fenders, hood....? Does it bolt right up with all these parts? Is this way too much work for what it's worth? My entire front end is pretty much destoyed and I have already hacked away a lot of material so I'm pretty sure I could fabricate anything I would need as far as mounts and stuff. I'm just wondering if it will line up with the car right. Anybody?

no idea, but i can give you some direction
headlights, hood, fenders, radiator support, bumper.
as far as putting it all on, well, i suppose you can fab it up

Hmmmm...I wonder if it would line up with the door though? That would be the only thing I wouldn't be able to change. The door is kinda there and can't be moved around. I suppose that would be the only thing stopping me from doing this.

you use half cut fenders from both... the back of your gen and the front of the swap gen...
I've seen pics of a eg with a 96+ front end on it... don't know where but I've seen it...
imo it looks lame... the front end of the 92-95's is the best looking one barring jdm type-r... IMO.
I think the hood might be the beotch but again I'm not sure... I am sure I saw it though. I think it was here.

Wow, that would be a bitch. I didn't think it would involve that kind of fabrication.

JdmFan.com or sumthin like that use to have a how-to on this. I dont think the site is up anymore however...but in order to do the conversion you need the fenders, hood, headlights, frontbumper, and radiator support from the 96-98 front end. You just replaced the 92-95 fontend's hood, radiator support, headlights and bumper for the 96-98 front end. You have to cut the fenders in half. YOu weld the front fender half of the 96-98 fender to the back half of the 92-95 fender. and then your pretty much done. Then PAINT.

Type R is the only one I'd even consider. My neighbor got the 00' civic front end on his EG. busted to me but that's my opinion. The teg type R is easier and cheaper.. from what I hear. Well maybe not cheaper.
