Any of you guys running straight pipes...
or bc spec 2 exhausts. I was just wondering how much trouble you guys have had with the cops or fix-it tickets, if any at all. Is it really worth running those types of exhausts on a daily just for the hell of it or should i just run a more modest setup.

B20b with header, 2.5 in straight pipe(came with car) and an OEM muffler. Too loud.
Get a hi flow cat if you really want to straight pipe.
Anything over 2.25 is too big for NA.

I run spec 2 with a turbo and it's too loud. I had to use earplugs driving it around. So I stuck a cat on it and a packing tip and its not so loud anymore. My neighbors thank me now.

^^haha NO IT DIDNT!
anyways. BC spec 2 is garbage don't do it.
but you can run a straight pipe. mines a highflow cat to 2.5 piping and a vibrant dual tip exhaust. its pretty loud if you get on it otherwise it works. if you really do DD every day you'll want at least one resonator in there it can get a lil bothersome.
also 3 in. is where its at for NA. if your going performance. if not don't worry about exhaust sizes.

Re: Any of you guys running straight pipes...
i had a buddy club spec 2 on a gsr motor with tri y header and a test pipe. i drove it every day and made 200 mile round trips every weekend. over about a year and a half i only got 1 ticket and it wasnt because it was too loud but because the exhaust had no muffler(although being loud is obiously what got me pulled over). overall it wasnt that bad if you dont mind driving a loud car otherwise i would get something with a muffler.

Straight pipe imo for daily is not worth it,you loose acceleration, especially during hotter weather and the smell is getting to me,im about to just put a magnaflow cat or catco cat on since my car came catless, just to be legal and get some low end power back but to each its own its just my opinion,i had a 240sx s14 ka24de and that engine pulls hard really hard without a cat and 3.5 inch exhaust n/a it likes to breath but my civic does not lol

Not sure if I should even post... as this applies to my suburban, not my civic, but...
I put a 3" straight pipe on my burb in 2007. For 3 years, I passed safety and never had a problem with the cops. However, two months ago I failed safety for no muffler. So, I installed a Magnaflow XL Turbo muffler. It has a nice deep rumble and I passed inspection with flying colors. In hindsight, I should have installed the magnaflow over the straight pipe in the first place. It sounds much better.
