Default Any TRANNY EXPERTS in here?

I've been getting this notchy feeling when going into 2nd and 4th gear for the past 2 months. And just recently it started to get worse, now going into second you can barely feel a grind along w/ the notchyness. I've noticed that if you switch gears really fast, it goes in smooth and there is no notchyness or grind. But if you just switch gears like you normally do, you can feel the notchyness in both gears. Also, it does not get worse or anything if your switching gears at a higher rpm either.

*this is a 2000 jdm itr tranny w/ ~9,000 mi

This is what i've done:
-switched tranny fluids twice within 2 months, and founs Honda mtf to be smoother shifting than GM (changing the fluid does help a little but goes back to where it was before)
-bleed the clutch fluid

so whats going on here?

Thanks

my friends car was feeling notchy and we changed fluids and everything. it only shifted smooth at higher rpm and we ended up finding out it was a bad throwout bearing...but that was in every gear... its perfect now

Going into first at a stop feels notchy too. 3rd which i just seem to notice SOMETIMES feel notchy, and also 5th...but these are not as noticable.

Im also getting this low pitch noise, kinda like a bearing spinning w/o grease when in neutral...but the noise goes away right when you barely tap on the clutch pedal. But this started after all the notchyness started which the noise started about 3 wks ago.

thats your throwout bearing making that noise. maybe its on its way out the door. Might as well change the clutch too since its gonna be all in front of you. Is the clutch starting to slip at all yet?

I had the clutch disk, and throw-out-bearing changed at the same time i put the jdm tranny in, which was about 3-4 months ago. I did not change my pressue place cause its only been in there for about a year.

I also had this noise in my old gsr tranny but was alot louder, which was the reason why i got the jdm tranny.

check out this thread as far as the noise goes. I had the same problem with my tranny making noise at neutral with the clutch out, I changed the tranny and it's gone. As far as the notchiness goes, I'm not too sure what to say about that. But check this post out. Your notchy feeling and noise can all be from the tranny and maybe somewhat interrelated.

your pressure plate might have something to do with that as well.
