Any point keeping J's pillar bar when you have a cage???
I have decided on getting a 4 or 6 pt cage for my '96 hatch.
I currently have:
-Spoon rear strut bar
-J's Racing rear pillar bar
-Backyard special rear performance rod
I know that the strut bar is worth keeping. Should I ditch the J's bar and the BYS bar since I am getting a cage? Isn't the chassis going to be stiff enough now with the 4 pt?
Any input is welcome...

a good cage would be cusco, any others?
You obviously haven't seen REAL roll-cages.

I have a cusco roll bar and while it probably does a good job of stiffening the chassis a little bit, it doesnt have a harness bar. But it is gobs lighter then the autopower stuff. But I wouldn't consider the cusco 4pt or even 6pt a good cage for anything outside of an autocross.

I am getting a bucket seat and I want some rollover protection that is why I am getting a 4pt. I am getting rid of the J's bar and BYS bar since I am trying to minimize the amount of junk that I have on the car...

to make more clarity here, a GOOD cage will make any of those bars redundant.
meaning you need to get a cage that has bracing that mimicks these bars' functions... like having a tube for a crossbrace between the feet of the cage on the strut towers, and having a X brace between the upper hoop and these rear feet on the towers.
Some cages do not have these braces, and will benefit from the C pillar bar and rear strut tower bar.

yeah... I figured as much... a custom cage would be great but I am just looking for a 4pt for rollover protection with a bucket seat...
I think that I will keep the Spoon rear strut.
I am selling the rest...
