Once you get the right cat you will be just fine. Hopefully, you have a stock base map on your ecu because they will put yours under the pipe. I have moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas since 1993.

As for the smog laws are as strict as California. OBD2 gets tested by the port, etc.

Clark County and Reno require a vin inspection for first time registration. Pre OBD2 uses a tailpipe sniffer.

OBD2 is easier since it just checks RPM at idle and sensor errors. o2 simulator and no cat will pass easily for OBD2.

If you're moving to Vegas lock your car up like Fort Knox and really look for a place with a garage. Civics disappear like crazy here, had mine stolen twice and totalled out the second time. Garaged hatch now.

u should be okay like the other guys said it's a tailpipe test so no biggie. please keep me posted on your dmv registration though, u mentioned that u have a gsr and here when u register a car from out of state u have to get a vin inspection before they'll allow u to do it, cause i was thinking about buying a car from cali but some have had engine swaps so i want to know what they ask for

My experience with the Nevada DMV . I believe it is in the end of Jones Blvd. Like he said before I needed a vin inspection. First, I needed a liability insurance from my insurance agency, then I needed to take my car to get it "smogged" legally, next I had to get a vehicle safety inspection which is very easy (one time deal and was my first time for me to register it under the state of Nevada. She just looked around my car, checked the VIN and signed me off (mind you) she did not even look under my hood the whole time during the safety inspection. I take the safety paper aswell as my other paper and now I can go for my registration. Intend to invest in more time than usual but relatively painless.

As posted cars do tend to "disappear" here so try not to make it stand out as much as possible.
