Re: (goodbyegti)
im only using a zapco 650,i have all alpine preccesors and cva 1005 w/12 disc.
my battery is constantly dying on me.when it sits for a few days it drains down to nothing.
the other day i made 2 20 minute trips in it,the next day the battery was dead.usually it takes at least 3 days for it to die when its been sitting.
i dont drive the car much at all,so im constantly putting the charger on the battery.now im fixing to start driving it daily,so i put a brand new battery in the car.i cant think of anything in the car that would be drawing power except maybe the alarm and the scanner light that is on when the alarm is on.
@1500 rpms i get 14.8 volts on the battery(thats with a aem pulley on it also),when its off i get 13.2 on the battery.the battery is relocated to the rear with 4 gauge with about 18 inch ground.i dont get any battery lights when the car is running.
how can i check to see whats drawing the juice from the battery?

measure the current flowing through the battery when the car is off, you can calculate how long it wil last, you shouldn't have a paristic drain of more than 0.25 -0.50 amp or so otherwise you've probably got a short somewhere, with the ammeter still connected start pulling fuses and see when the current drops..
