any idea on how to clean engine?

Default any idea on how to clean engine?

i spilled a lil oil on the side of my car engine.... it heats up and smokes ... and smells bad... anyone kno the correct way to clean it?

i'm thinking ... spray it with water... then let the sun dry it... =\

i would think engine degreaser i think that would help just go to a autozone or pepboys or something and ask them about it

castrol superclean is the best degreaser imo

but then i cant reach it tho... ill take pix tomorrow morning
and point to where the oil is.. its hella hard to get into... the degreaser wont hurt it right?

No, it just breaks down grease/oils ....you can just let it set for about a min and spray it off with a water hose, make sure you dont do this with your motor hot please buddy....

It's what I use. You can also use Simple Green. Just spray on (scrub with a brush too if you want) then rinse off. Don't let any degreaser / solvent stay on your paint long though.

ok, let your motor cool, until it is decently cool, then spray your degreaser where ever you need to, for the under the hood section and the major parts of the motor and body, just brush over it real quick, then let it set for a min. or so then wash off. I have a pressure washer, and that gets it really clean

dammit they should allow picture hosting.... that way u can see how many wires cover up the surrong oil cap area... some are like rubber tubes that barely even wiggle

thats the thing im talking about... ty ty ty u mentioned that... there is a lot of wires and like 3 fuse boxes.... 1 on battery has 3 fuses 1 to the right has a lot of fuses like 20? 1 on the upper right of the battery has about 15.... theres crazy amount of wires comming from those... layers and layers then theres tubes for refridgerant and stuff all surrounding the tiny oil cap... i tried tying a towel to a stick... even that cant get in...

ok so if i cant wipe it... do i spray it anyways then i can drive off without any problem or is that a really bad thing to do...

if you do it when your engine is hot, it will be more effective. spray on, let it sit for 5-10, then use a high pressure hose and spray it real well

with your engine a cold or slightly warm spray it with brake cleaner....it'll get rid of the oil in 2 seconds and dry itself in another 20 seconds. Problem solved, no scrubbing.
