I had the same money problem. It was limited to a ZC or a d16. I just put in a sohc VTEC and i'm happy with it.

Yeah, I think you'll be better off with a SOHC VTEC. Much less worries about smog and stuff. Plus, replacement parts are easy to come buy and pretty cheap as well...and reliability is a

My suggestion is just save your money. Your gonna spend too much money for not enough power...and I garauntee you are gonna want more once you put either the ZC or the d16 in your ride. Then once you realize that you want a faster motor, your gonna be what, 600 (at least) dollars in the hole? Your call, but theres my pennies.

I have a "JDM" DOHC zc in my eg....swap cost like 1500 and that included towing and stuff.....plus replacement parts like radiator, timing belt, etc etc etc..
I like the power...turbo is the way to go....here are some pics....you have to find the obd1 motor, the mounts are the same as the eg, the older zc motors won't bolt in like this....u need a mount kit and I don't think they make one....so good luck!

there were many ZC variants from a 92+ carb motor, to dohc to sohc vtec . be more specific. the cheapest would the ZC sohc non-vtec.

yeah, i think i'd rather just save for a swap. I'm saving for an R or else JDM gsr motor myself. Damn things cost so much.
