Any ACTUAL experience with Recaro knockoffs?
Yes I'm thinking about buying some knock-offs.
It's a daily driver, and I don't plan on putting alot of money in it. My OEM seats are starting to tear and fade...and I just want a new look without paying out for actual recaros.
I've seen lots of threads but it's usually a bunch of people hating who have real recaros and have never seen a knockoff set but for maybe a minute at a time and didn't see the long-term reliability/unreliability.
Does anybody have any ACTUAL experience with these or at least had a close friend (local not internet friend) and has seen how these hold up? I know that there's a million different manufacturers but I'm just looking for a little input.
I've heard they would probably fade bad from UV damage at a very fast rate/reclining parts break/uncomfortable/not certified.
Any picture would definitely help as well.
Please avoid the "just save up and buy the real ****" or "you gotta pay to play" or "just get some teg seats".

I'll start by saying I don't have experience with them really. Sorry.
But, they aren't certified by the SCCA in most cases, no tracking, autox with fake seats. That's really the only bit of legitimate info I know of. They are tempting though, they look sexy in the pictures. I just went with some Integra seats though, I like autox...
Let us know what you find out!

Did some research and found out no matter what don't go with recaro knocks...
My son sits in the backseat and I hear these things snap and break backwards in wrecks...therefore probably injuring him...not even close to wanting to risk that.
I'm buying some teg seats this week...**** being unsafe.

yeah man, dont mess around with junk knock off seats. I had some in my eclipse and they did snap like no-ones business, but just under normal conditions >< hate to see it in a crash. What a waste of time too... getting them to fit was a damn nightmare only to have it break while I driving..
def go for the teg seats, I have some and they feel real sturdy and hug you pretty tight.

S2000 seats will bolt right in with a pan swap... EP3 seats require welding/fabrication FYI...
