Default anti sway bar sizes

i was wondering what is a good size for sway bars? I was planning on getting the ST set but i found out that the one for my car is only 3/4" or like 19mm is this too small or wimpy? The eibach one is like 25mm does the size difference really matter that much? any info would be much appreciated

does any 94-2001 teg lca fit on my car? this is a direct fit right? but even if i get the arms don't i need additional brackets?
and if i get a aftermarket sway bar for my car and i change to integra LCA later on will the aftermarket sway bar still fit?

I'm using a 22mm rear swaybar and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Definately the best suspension mod I've done so far.

integra type r sway bars will not fit on a civic if that is what you are talking about. neither will the lca's. believe me, we tried on my 97 hatchback.

i have a 95 ex coupe and it came from the factory with a front sway bar but none on the rear. the ITR rear sway bar will fit on a EG coupe. did the install last weekend. but i would recommend buying the BEAKS SRK also to be on the safe side. check out the write up i did on the install last weekend.

Default anti sway bar for all purposes

the bigger the better is not the case with anti sway bar. the one thing to remember is that honda's and integra's are ff(front wheel drive). don't want it too big up front because you'll loose overall handling. don't want it too big in the rear because it might give out. if you look how race cars(scca, toca, and touring) bigger isn't the case. your best bet is go with factory original equipment(92-95 civic si, ex front sway bar set with lca or gsr front and back set with lca) or go with suspension techniques front and rear.

i've got the rear suspension techniques sway bar set for sale $100 as is

... if u have a stiff suspension set up .. the effects of a anti roll bar is less noticeable .....

anti roll bar .. is just what the name suggest .... force the car to have less roll ....
it is just a bar the link up right and left suspension .... when one side is compress ..
it exert an upward force on the other side as well ... therefore the car stay flat ..

the problem with stiff sway bars is ... they limit the right left suspension to move freely ....
we have a independent suspension for a reason ....
and when u have a bar that is too stiff .... the tire patch gripping the groung become inconsistence ....

a anti roll bar is a great mod if you tune it right ... it will screw up the suspension if u dont have the right one ...

Yep. It's important for people to remember that a larger rear sway bar causes oversteer (back end comes out) because it REDUCES grip.

When building up a suspension there needs to be a balance between all the components. In other words, a 26 mm rear bar will work fine... as long as you have serious spring rates and re-valved Koni adjustable shocks to complement it.

Suspension Techniques rear sway is 19 mm, but due to endlink location at the very end of the control arm, it performs as "well" as the ITR 22 mm bar. I put "well" in quotes because it's performance is related to the rest of the suspension setup. The ST front and rear sway bar set is a good design for someone who is looking for increased performance in a daily driver/autoxer/sometimes track car. It works well with spring rates from 200-500 lbs. I particularly like their kit for the DX because it's cheap, it comes with all the mounting hardware for the front bar, it's easy to install, and the bushings, etc. are urethane. Sorry, didn't mean to sound like an infomercial...

fsp31, you did not sound like an infomercial. I think you have good points. I totally agree with you. I had a 22/22 setup on a otherwise stock suspension and it sucked! The bars were trying to do all the work and they could not keep up. In the end, the ITR rear bar caused enough stress to my subframe that small cracks developed on each side of the subframe. I took the bar off immediately. Though the cracks are very small, 1/4" in length each in exact opposite places of the subframe where the metal wraps around on the edge between where the sway bar mounting bolts were. I am going to have the cracks welded, and next year I am using the ST 19mm bar. I now also have Koni Yellow shocks with Integra Eibach Pro-Kit springs. The ride is very firm and responsive, yet not too harsh. I think of it as a happy medium.

i own a 98 civic dx also

im running suspension technics civic front bar
and suspension technics speed tech bar and brace on the back- helps reduce risk of cracking subframe
7/8" in front
15/16" in back

i am very happy with the performance of these parts....it made a hugh difference

check it out if you want

I am using the ST 22MM/19MM setup on my HX and it has been great.
Too bog of a rear bar will make you lose the rear end on corners as mentioned...it has even happened to me with the 19mm rear bar. It can be fun...but dangerous.

i have skunk2 560 lbs/" springs all around and kyb AGX on both my delsol and civic. delsol has stock swaybars 24 mm front 15 mm rear. civic has 24 mm eibachs front and 19 mm neuspeeds rear. it picks up the inside rear wheel easily. not cool.

i'm a believer in high spring rates first before swaybars. think about what a swaybar does. basically it combines both spring rates when the car rolls. the bigger the bar the less "independent" suspension is. use a big enough bar and you got a solid axle.
