Antenna. Would this work?
Hey,
Well I just got the CX antenna block off plate for my EH2. Currently I don't have a radio, but I'm looking to get one. I don't want an exterior antenna. I've read a little bit about internal antenna's and am considering that as an option.
Would it be possible to ground the wire that plugs to the antenna socket of your headunit so that your whole car acts as an antenna? This would be the cheapest and easiest option for me to do. How is the reception?
Anyone done this?
Thanks,
George

Hmm, this sounds like an interesting idea. My antenaa is busted right now, kinda sticking half-way out and won't go back down, so I would like to know as well.

That's what happened with my antenna so I ditched it.
Also, where would the best place be to ground the wire?

you can get just a wire antenna without the metal antenna. it's basicly just the wire, but capped at the end.

You mean like the Metra Internal Antenna?

I've been told the reception on this one is crap.

well that's a little more advanced then what i was talking about.
but yes that will work..
if you already have the stock metal antenna, just cut it off where it meets the metal part that normaly goes outside of the car. use electrical tap to cover then end. and run it around your window seal.
that's the free way,, but that ebay item does look nice.
