When you install the block-off plate, how do you take apart the antenna? Doesn't that mean you'll get no reception for radio?

the point of the plate is if you are running a radio block off plate (i am) or you have satelite radio and dont use am/fm

Dont get the blockoff plate if you want to keep your antena

i have the antenna block off plate and i took off the whole antenna assembly .

i have the atenna block off plate. my antenna is relocated towards the spoiler on the roof, kinda like on the vw jetta's. i bought it like that though.

the block off plate basically is a relocator. it closes off where your antenna is and then you really dont have one unless you install one somewhere else
theres a special tool to take off the thing its like a horseshoe shape with 2 little flat ends... it fits on and you can take it apart rather easy check your other post about antenna.. i wrote something in there for ya. also a new antenna kit comes with the tool to remove the old.

can someone give me the part # for the antenna plate block off and the gasket for 97-00 civics ... dealership is confused and can find only EG ones

Bringing this one back....

I ordered the plate and rubber gasket and screws from majestic. Is there another back piece to the block off? I seem to be missing the location that the plate screws into. Help? Anyone?

No block of plate is to make it cleaner.

i have the block off plate and then i purchased a metra antenna and have the antenna in my dash.

boom clean smooth car with radio still.

thx god i have the fing radio my hasport mounts makes cd playing impossible.

to my recolection, the blockoff plate is the plate itself, a rubber gasket, and 2 screws. i picked mine up at a junkyard. that should be all you need.

It screws straight into the roof, there is no back plate.

also a good place to find these is on ebay. they go for pretty cheap and they are still OEM honda.

I just pushed my antenna down into the a pillar, i didn't feel like pulling it out. I did notice that one of the screws is a little long and doesn't put very much pressure on the gasket, im going to reverse the screws to see if that makes a dif.

I guess I need to clarify.... I have a del Sol. It's not a roof antenna.

Did you order #10, or a generic civic antenna block off plate?
Im guessing the latter, huh?
The civic block off plate is pretty different, and designed for A pillar mounted antennas (as you probably figured out). I wasnt even aware that S models were offered w/o a radio...

I ordered number 9 and 10 in that pic. It's the screws, a plastic plate, and a rubber grommet. No place for it to screw to.
