Another Weight reduction thread yay!
I have a 94 ex.turbo, GSR leather seats, a/c I want to lose some pounds of the car without sacrificing appearance or creature comforts Ie. sound deading, carpeting, a/c etc. so far my only weight reductions mods are:
no spare or jack
Lighter wheels
wilwood brakes
the only other things I can think of now are:
CF hood
flexalite molded glass
lighter battery
and possible lighter seats
I realise I can just raise the boost from 31-34psi but I spend most of my time in lower boost in the 380-400hp area.
wht else can I remove?

different seats alone will save you 10-15 pounds...
get some of those cheap *** ebay seats... they weigh less than most recaros.

I've seen on ebay those fake "mugen" seats that are like 400 shipped and weigh about 22lbs a piece
I've weighed CX and VX seats and both are 35lbs

Carbon body panels definately work. Consider Percy's Speedglass as opposed to the Flexalite (lighter and cheaper). The Braille Automotive battery is pretty much the lightest on the market. Consider perfomance upgrades like a lighter flywheel as well.

Have you tried these seats? They look good but the description sounds like propaganda.

the steel plate above the driver's knees
front / rear bumper supports
unused exhaust hangers
some aftermarket speakers are very light
steering wheel
passenger airbag
harness from seatbelts
tow hooks
mirros (stock mirrors are sooo heavy)
get rid of pass mirror (i have blockoff plate i'll sell you cheap)
rear wiper delete from a VX (DX?)
vx wheels are 9lbs, and look like mini type-Rs
fuel cell instead of gas tank, steel tanks are heavier than aluminum ones
aluminum cat-back
tons of suspension pieces like control arms
aluminum AC / PS / alternator brackets
that's all i can think of for qeight reduction without taking away comphort
