another vtec not engaging thread
here is my problem. im running a sohc v mini me...b7 w/z6 head. vtec is wired up correctly but vtec isnt engaging. when i hit vtec, around 46 or 47, my CEL lights up and stays on. when i turn the car off to check it, the cel stays solid and my srs light blinks. i am really confused right now. the ecu works, tried it on my other car. any suggestions? compression is 190 across the board and oil pressure is decent.

thats the thing, no code is blinked. The srs light flashes at a steady pace and the cel stays light, which means there is no code..right? i even tried jumping it will the car was still on but the cel went off for a second then came back on solid and the srs flashed.

There is no procedure given to display and Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes without a scan tool so you will need to let the honda dealer to extract the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) for the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)

....
the srs blinks at a constant pace while the cel stays solid. if the srs blinked in random strokes, then yes.
when the srs blinks and cel is solid, that means one of two things: 1. there aren't any codes or 2. the ecu is fried.
i tried the ecu (chipped p28) in my 94 h22 and it worked great, vtec engaged.
with the cel coming on when vtec is supposed to hit, what could it be? i cleaned the gasket and vtec housing, changed the solenoid to a known working one and still nothing.

Re: another vtec not engaging thread
it only comes on when i jumped the service connector. one thing that i thought it could be was that i spliced a4 and d6 together due to the oil pressure sensor like i had it on my first 94 mini me(same motor). before i did that, vtec wouldnt engage also, but the cel wouldnt come on.
