Default another timing? searched

ok so im replacing my timing belt for the first time(94 ex sedan d16z6) i had the belt wander off and melt the cover. any way i replaced the belt sat i thought i had it all right but when i got it all back together still no start. i have spark on all 4 plugs, i have comp, i have fuel, i checked all the wires are plugged into the dizzy in the correct order, checked all conn, new plugs wires cap rotor coil water pump tensioner belt covers pcv new oil thermo and antifreeze. so im guessing i was off on my timing i was careful (i thought) but the only thing i can think of is that i removed the cam pulley to replace the back cover and i may have knocked it off tdc when i did but when i turned it to put tension on it all the marks lined up(the cam pully and crank shaft) or could i have moved it when i ws putting the belt on it was tight. i dunno if anyone has any suggestions on things to check before i tear this all apart again or how to keep every thing in line while im working on it.
sorry about the book just trying to be thorough thanks

Are you positive that cylinder one was on tdc--the mark on the crankshaft might have been facing up but it will face up for bdc and tdc I usually use a straw down the spark plug tube to check or you can just put it at tdc before putting the head back on. You may also have the firing order wrong or if you took the dis out you could have it 180 off although I am pretty sure that will only go in one way. Check the rotor, firing order, and then slide the belt off and double check that cylinder one is on tdc and then line up the camshaft and you should be all good.

the firing order is good i like triple chkd it, i was thinking it might be that i didnt have it tdc or i had a hell of a time getting the belt on i might have been off a tooth but i was pretty sure all the marks were dead on but... ill try the straw and go for it again thanks for all the help
