ok i have a 95 civic eg hatch/b16a swap. now the spedometer only works sometimes and when the car is cold. once it heats up and im drving awhile it starts to bounce around all over the place. ive already replaced the vss with one from a working d series and it helped alittle. ive already repined the connector to the vss for a better conection. however if the speedometer is freaking out if i unplug the vss and replug it back in it works all day. no cells, just an srs light because of my lack of airbags. and the everything else on the cluster work even the odometer.

Did you try replacing your speedometer? Sometimes the coil goes bad too.

If you tried another working speed sensor then the best bet is to trace the wiring from the vehicle speed sensor throughout the engine harness to check for any bad wiring such as a tear or bad connection.

i havent tryed replacing the gauge itself ill just try and find a new cluster
