Default Another question on gettin rid of rust in engine bay...

Ok i posted about this not too long ago, on solutions on how to get rid of this..

Well today, I was cleaning my engine/bay, and i noticed that the rust is very light, and not that bad at all, so i started rubbing it, and i got most of it out...So what i was thinking is, should I just sand it down, primer it, and paint it?

Also, is it supposed to be painted red? Obviously the car has been in an accident...

Shoot me your opinions...

Also, can I just use auto spray paint and primer you can buy in a can?

i would sand blast it out... or use a paint stripper, and clean it down to bare metal. then poor some muriatic acid on it... muriatic acid you can npickup at homedepot in the pool section.

primer, sealer, and then paint. the sealer prevents water from going back into the metal. causing rust.

what ever method you'll use, you should pull everything out so it doesn't get damaged.. also for your application, you must just want to use a paint stripper that you can get at any autoparts store or homedepot . Also use a wirewheel in a drill and clean it that way.
