Default Another p0505 thread, 99 HX M/T

Hey Folks,
I've been reading all the other threads about a p0505 but I'm kinda stumped now.

I tried checking the TPS voltage, by couldn't get my multimeter to connect with anything. Is there a trick to backprobing the sensor? I don't want to break anything, shoving the probes in there.

I didn't see any obvious vacuum leaks, but is there a way to check for very small leaks?

I reset the idle, based on the FAQ sticky. The car dies if it's it's cold if the IACV is unplugged. It will idle around 500rpm when it's warm with the IACV unplugged, though. I'm not sure if that means the IACV is working or not. The idle speed increases like it's supposed to when the headlights or A/C is on.

Symptoms: very infrequently, car will idle poorly at speed. Like, on the highway, sometimes if the throttle body is closed, with the car in gear, it will get kinda jerky and lose power. It goes away once you tap the accelerator. It just recently began throwing the p0505 code. It also has a roaming or bouncing idle occasionally.

Any advice would be appreciated.

(I cleaned out the IACV about 6-7 months ago, IIRC. It's possible I got some air into the coolant lines)
