another injector thread please help!!! civic si
car: civic 99 si
okay i have a set of 550cc rc injectors....
the resistor box bcus they are low impedance
its going to be running on a tuned b20vtec with a b16a head with a p28 s100 ecu the ecu will be using the jumper harness 0bd2 to obd1
the question is...what am i missing?
i got the jumper harness
the injectors
and i got the resistor box...
here are pix of how it looks.....
resistor box
rc 550cc injectors
but then in this picture i see lines coming out the injectors will i need to buy those if so what are they?? and can i use the stock ones from the b16a?
somebody please help ---> me and help....looking to install this week and want everything to go smooth

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
the second ones are pluggs.. The OBD0 and obd1 plugs have that metal clip on them to keep them in where as the obd2 have a different plug. I personally went to all obd2 because the OBD1 confused between obd0 was way to confusing and involved way to much mind bleeding. Plus with an ob2 setup you can read detailed trouble codes.
And ANOTHER thing i found out is not all jumpers are created equil the one i had for my obd1p28 to go to my obd2 harness and i had an OBD0 motor. the motor ran like **** fuel sounded like it was just getting chugged in there> so i ended up getting a P2P ecu which is form the 99-00 si which you should have already. I found no advantage with th P28 just alot of confusion and dissapointment. If your car is a 99-00 i would take your oil pump off the stock motor put it on the b20 because the OBd2 setup requires the Crank Positioning Sensor. then get the sensors off your old motor then use your stock harness. that would be much simpler i think. IMO its like trying to run an old computer with a pentium 2 with a brand new graphics card using a 1984 IBM color monitor..

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
OBD1 is easier to tune with.
Here is a diagram on how to wire up teh resistor box.
http://www.phearable.net/tech/wiring/resistorbox.gif
You will need a conversion harness for the plugs. This way you dont need to cut or solder your OEM ones to fit the RC injectors.
http://www.phearable.net/shoppingcar...lips-p-89.html
You are also going to need an OBD2 ---> OBD1 ECU conversion harness.
http://www.phearable.net/shoppingcar...ness-p-33.html
You will also need a OBD2--->OBD1 conversion harness for the distributor. Unless you want to cut and solder.
http://www.phearable.net/shoppingcar...per-p-102.html
And no I dont work for phearable.net lol
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
the P2P is also tunable also the Integra Type R Ecu not sure what number it is.> hondata makes Chipped ECUs for both of these really any ECU you can chip but you have to chip it to tune it. Im not sure about the CRVtec thing but id say Hondata would be the way to go it will simplify everything. Hondada has a USB plug in you can plug it in to your laptop and tune in thru the included program.
Thats what rout im going to go eventually

Yes, all links I posted is what you would need. Email or call John at phearable.net and let him know your situation and he will happily assist you in anyway. Just call during normal hours of course.

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
Its mostly plug and play. The only real work is wiring the resistor box. If he gto saturated injectors he wouldnt need the r box and it would be a matter of plugging in 4 injector clips and a ecu harness. A 10 minute job if no resistor box was needed.

LOL yeah. Yes those are them. When are you getting a tune or are you going to do it yourself? Once you put those injectors in your car will not run at all. It will be getting way to much fuel.

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
im putting the block in this week
and then going straight to eaither ''do it dyno'' or ericks....
but im most likely not going to do any of the injector/fuel/ resistor box stuff untill i get to where it is going to get tuned...
my other question is...i baught a p28 s100 was on a b20v
while drivin to get it tuned should i drive the si ecu or the p28?
and then going straight to eaither ''do it dyno'' or ericks....

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
Use the stock Si ECU to get there. Phearable.net has base maps that you put in your chipped ECUs for temporary use (IE getting to the dyno, driving till you can get an appointment with tuner at the dyno). This way if you have this done you can do all the work at home and make sure everything is working fine till you get to the dyno where the clock is ticking and you pay $. Last thing you want is to get to dyno on tuning day and do this work and find out your resistor box is bad or you wired it wrong and have to troubleshoot where you messed up.

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
Honestly its up to you. I just like doing everything at home to verify its 100% running. But you could "prep" the wiring of the box before you go. Cut and solder all wires before you go and then just cut/solder the box in when you get there. This way you dont have to run the wires and make it pretty there.

would my best option be do the box at the shop and let them tune it so injectors will run with the set up?

Re: another injector thread please help!!! civic si
You can do it at home and get a base map chip and drive with chipped ECU.
You can prep it at home and actually do the swapping at shop but drive there with stock ECU.
You can do it all at shop from teh ground up and drive there with stock ECU.
Its all up to you and how you want to do it.
