Another Dyno...Question.
I just dynoed my car and I was wondering...Are they good numbers? The tq looks like it could use improvement [i would like to get improvement]
I'm running a stock 79 lph fuel pump. No vafc or fpr or anything. bone stock. if i wanted to even out the curve anymore, how could i do that?
sorry, the text is not big enough. it's 178.5whp and 123.7. it's in my sig.
Thanks to vtecvoodoo for the Dyno Day. I had to leave so, no carne asada for me... i was hella hungry that day too.
*edit - sorry, the text is not big enough. it's 178.5whp and 123.7. it's in my sig.*

The numbers Are not bad at all!
The Tq will Rise with more Fuel tuning, You need to also get a Dohc Fuel pump!
I dont know if they also did Wide Band O2 with your car But when I had Mine dyoned I was Leaning out Bad after Vtec was engaged (5200) And the main reason I think was the fact I had a Sohc Fuel Pump! I have Since Switched though Have not yet to go back to dyno!
Good luck, Eric

Well i had a FPR and an VAFC, When the fuel pumps maxed out, It will not be able to Meet the Requirments!
Just get a Dohc fuel pump!

Very nice numbers for a pretty much stock engine. As to the potential of this engine you can see that in the vtec your torque curve kind of raises and drops and that suggests that there is a little bit more power gains that you could expect from some fine tunning. A VAFC would be probably sufficent for this, but I would suggest going with a tunner that knows what he is doing and burning a new chip for you. It will be closer to stock that way. Either way it will work. Good luck.

Re: Another Dyno...Question. (Screamer)
You don't need a fuel pump, you need an LS block, haha. I got 134 torque, and 175 hp. I am running a stock '92 Si fuel pump with 310 RCs, B&M FPR, and VAFC and we were able to get plenty of fuel. You don't need a fuel pump unless you need high fuel pressures. Mine only required 37 psi at WOT.

Just get a 255lph fuel pump that way you will know for sure that your geting plenty of fuel. The stock pump is probably having a hard time flowing enough for that engine.
What ecu are you runing?

My boys USDM type r motor puts down 175 hp, 125 tq on the dyno with intake, exhaust and cams.. im suprise its almost the same has yours.
Plus you say He has Cams? If aftermarket Your Boys Power is Actually Low!
BTW...Your boys TQ is also a little low!

That is awesome for dynoing there at IB. I have a friend with an itr motor with i/h/e and only put down 167.
Good stuff
If you get hondata, that is all you need.

i was thinking of hondata. if i got that, i wouldn't need a vafc, right?
Maybe If you were boosting, In your case Hondata Will not be worth it!

Re: Another Dyno...Question. (rainmanEK)
try emanagement,
it is cheap. only a couple of hundred more than vafc and it will also allow you to do everything a vafc plus u can control timing. and u can pass emissions because it is a piggy back computer that will still allow emissions tester to read the ecu.
175 is a good number, tune it and try lowering timing on the distributor if you are raising compression.
i agree hondata is not worth it to me if you arent boosting.

If you ask me....I don't see anything wrong with the dyno data. Torque usually peaks mid-range and starts falling off.
Pretty good numbers....about the same as a D16 engine with 7 psi boost, but that's 20 ft-lbs less than a boosted D16. Well, for comparison sake.

Re: Another Dyno...Question. (Marauder)
i wanna have a computer in my car like the fast and furious!!!
like it says, hondata is for oem ecu's. since mine's pretty OEM, i would go with hondata. the boost is opinional [meaning, i won't get that opinion] and i personally would like the datalogger as an opinion. if i don't get hondata, why not check out the apex-i reprogrammable ecu. my friend once told me this - if i'm going to do something...do it right!! thats the reason i didn't get a b16 again.

The numbers look really good, and I am sure even more Hondata tuning with Jeff at IB can smooth those curves right out
In a sense I do agree with rainman in saying that Hondata may be a little overkill for your application, but whatever floats your boat.
