Default Another car wont start thread.

The other day I was driving with my girl for around a hour or so when we decided to pull over into a parking lot so she could learn how to a manual car (seriously). So I let her drive around for about 15 mins and she only stalled out once. We pulled under a light so I could check the oil and I shut off the car. When I went to crank it back up it didnt go. I took it to an autoparts store to see if it was the one of the usual suspects (Starter, Alternator, Battery). And all came out in working condition. I checked all the fuses and for power everywhere even the hot lead to the starter and that checked out fine from there I checked all the grounds and made sure that they were all clean and scratched to get good contact. I tried the ignition and that was also good. From there I checked to see if I heard the main relay click and it did. Ive tried everything I knew so now I leave it up to my fellow H-T'ers for help.

Thanks in advance (anything stupid keep it for a yard sale),

-Jeff.

Does your car rotate when attempting to start, or nothing at all?

How could it be the timing belt when the bottom end doesnt even turn over?

Grounds don't fall off when you're driving. If he had done a swap this would be a likely candidate, but after drving for 15 minutes - regardless of how jerky the launches - a ground isn't going to suddenly come undone.

Also, he spoke to this in his first post. Why don't you reread it and not ask questions that have already been answered, hmmmm?

As to the OP, if it's not cranking and the starter is functional, you either have a loose connection somewhere or a significant loss of battery power. Try jump-starting it even though your battery tested "fine". Try popping the clutch - push starting - and see if that gets the car moving. It could just be a silly one-time deal.

A list of possibilities:
Battery Terminal connections loose or corroded
Battery discharged or faulty
Clutch not completely depressed
Broken, loose or disconnected wiring in the starting circuit
Starter motor pinion jammed in flywheel ring gear
Starter solenoid faulty
Starter Motor faulty
Ignition switch faulty
Starter pinion or flywheel teeth worn or broken

about all i can think of, good luck

i had a problem similar like that before, and found out it was my distributor, i took the spark plug out and tested it on top of the motor, there was a spark but i guess the spark wasnt powerful enough to shoot off the first piston, so i got a new distributor and it fixed it (i also put new spark plugs). hope this helps.
