another a/c coversion question
I have a 92 civic si hatch with the old r12 a/c.
I has been removed from my car and I have puchased a complete a/c system from a 94 civic. This is a straight bolt on affair correct?
Also I've asked and read on this forum that I need a 94-95 del sol DOHC vtec a/c bracket if I want to use the stock d series compressor on a JDM b18c. Will a 94' hadsys compressor mount onto this bracket fine? The two compressor offerings available were by sanden and hadsys. What's the difference between hadsys and sanden?
I was certain that ppl said here sanden would mount ok but no mention of a hadsys compressor.
I am not clear on what ppl mean by taking a p30 bracket idler pulley and mounting it onto the p54 bracket. P30 I'm assuming is the stock a/c idler pulley?
Presently I'm trying to figure out how I can mount my new a/c system using my old ITR bracket. The P54 bracket from the dealership is $250 cdn!
Thanks

Re: another a/c coversion question
You're not going to be able to get the ITR bracket to work with the Civic compressor. It won't bolt up. The stock Integra compressor will bolt up, but your a/c lines won't bolt to that unless you twist them all up, and that will look ghetto and potentially leak. In order to get the a/c to work without headaches, use a crv compressor mount or del sol mount and get the idler pulley assembly from any dc2 integra. If you really want to use the ITR mount, you have two choices. You could redrill it for the civic compressor I suppose, but then again, you are asking for trouble if you get it crooked or off at all, since it has to run perfectly inline with the crank pulley. Or you can get an integra compressor, integra condenser, and all the integra lines, the evaporator is the same.

holy crap the first post was 6 years ago and got a response finally
The OP could have just purchased some r12 off EBAY and saved the trouble of converting to a r134a system
