Default Annoying sound eliminated

i just bought a 92 si hatch with a b20vtec swap i had a bad rattle coming from my GSR trans, long story short i read some posts on honda tech and believed the rattle to be coming from the input shaft bearing..SO i take the motor and the tranny out do a wire tuck and some other stuff which i will have pics of soon.i order a brand new clutch kit and the isb bearing i replaced the input shaft bearing inside the tranny and wait to take off the clutch before it comes...today my clutch came in and the 3 of the springs on the clutch disk and loose and rattling like hell..so i replaced the input shaft bearing for no reason!!!!!!!! When i took the bearing out it looked fine and i was annoyed but replaced it anyways.. anyways if you have a rattle that sounds like a isb bearing it could be the springs on the clutch disk.....

yeah the torsional coil springs help dampen the sudden load. might what to switch to a clutch with more springs designed to handle more power

when you pulled the tranny before you replaced the ISB did you play with the input shaft at all? On my trans that have had bad ISB the input shaft just sounded dirty when it was spinning. or worse case the input shaft has a ton o' play in it back and forth. So i knew both of those gear boxes were bad.

Guess this proves you should always investigate into a situation before you start throwing parts at cars. Personally i would of had the clutch off the car when the tranny came off and then returned the crap i didnt need :-) Works everytime for me unless its special order parts

Just curious, how much did you buy the car for? I am thinking of swapping my 92 SI and wanted to know how much I would be able to sell it for at the end if I needed to.
