Default Amber Clock and Civic ?

ok i went to a junkyard and got an amber clock and it works and all and it fits in the clock spot but everytime i turn car off and back on it resets to 1:00 how can i fix this ?

i didn't know what section to put this under if your a mod can you move it to where i will get the help i need.

u need a constant power going to the clock. when u shut the car off it loses all the power and shuts off too. with a constant power it would keep its memoery. like a radio has a 12v constant and a 12v acc. wire. the 12v hold the memorey for stations and clock. 12v acc. makes it come on and work.

well shouldn't it already stay on or at least have a constant since it is plugged in to the clock plug ? the engine in my car is dead so im working on interior things till i get the swap in about 2 weeks and the car will still go to acc but wont start so could that be the reason the constant isn't working ?

that im not too sure about. seems if its pluged in and everything and the batt has power it should be fine.

there is a backup fuse in the engine bay ... check that....

thank you that was it the 7.5A backup fuse was blown, i didn't even think to check the fuses in the engine bay i only checked in the underdash fuse box
