Are the bolts suppose to have a bunch of clearance in the bushing?

i think the nut that goes on there has a collar on it, but i am not 100% sure about that... i do know it has a huge flange on it

I ordered 2 new nuts from Honda and one new stud. Your right about the flange but there is no collar. The nut isn't even a locknut. It doesn't make mechanical sense? Why would there be such a loose fit? The rubber is there to allow movement right?

Is that the farthest you could push that mount back? Other then the way it is theres a special washer then the nut that goes to it.

that mount is not pointless. it keeps the motor from moving forward and back under acceleration.

trust me, mine was busted and my skunk 2 manifold was slamming my firewall. i got a new mount and some ES inserts and now it doesnt hit my firewall.

and to answer your question, yes they have clearance. that washer is not just a washer, it slides onto the ac bracket and will lock istelf into place (notice the hole isnt round its squared off

also, make sure you have the right mount on the right side. the mount pictured above is for the AC bracket. the other side looks like a V

those there are tourque mounts. without them and a strong launch you will break both your axles at once. i know this from first hand experience lol.

i remember on one of my swaps i ended up leaving it like that but its not suppose too. well ill double check on one of the ones i have laying around and see if i notice something missing

its not 100% square...more like this (__)

but that slides over and locks into place and holds the mount solid.

So im not the only one!, Thats not a bad idea but doest answer the Q. Why is it this way to start with? Im thinking about making a sleeve but need to wait till I get the motor in to see where im at.
