i have a jdm itr ecu in my gsr....my friends are saying since the fuel and timing are different for the itr ecu from my motor, somethin will f up....please help!!!

So you are saying that you up and put an ITR ECU in your GSR? Ok so what other parts are you going to be using which may be different on your GSR than a Type R... Fuel pump? Injectors, Rail? If these are different then you may be trying to pump more fuel then your injectors will allow. Also when you drive does it smell as if your car is burning rich? Or do you smoke excessively when you lay down the throttle? Check those things and if everything looks good then use the ECU... Btw have you noticed a performance increase by using this ECU? Also GSR rocks

What year is the ITR ecu and what year is your GSR? Do you already have it plugged in?

I can't really imagine it being a huge problem... I was gonna get the type R ECU with my GSR swap, but decided against it, but it will raise your rev limit to the 9's...You may wan to up the injectors in any case, but I don't think your gonna kill your engine...

I dont think it will be a problem... I dont know if he has the ecu plugged in or not already, but the only problem i can think of is the IMMobilizer. Most JDM obd2a ecus remained obd2a plug style (no IMMobilizer) unitl '00 with exception of the 00' CTR ecu. I know that 00-01' integra's obd2b are equipped with IMM. So it all depends on the years of the ecu and the car. But if its already plugged in then it should be fine.

If it plugs and works it won't be damaging your engine, if it plugs and dosen't work then you need to re-approach the issue...

yeah i have it plugged in....i notice running rich, some smoke from exhaust, and thats about it....im just scared of the long term affects....by the way its from a 98 jdm itr

note a difference between a gsr motor and a type r motor...

the intake manifold.....

gsr's have dual butterfly valves in the manifold that open at a specific rpm, itr's dont....

shouldn't you be getting a CEL?
